Today was a special occasion when I attended the annual meeting of the South Western Association of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society in Exeter.
The President of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society Mr Ifor Lloyd from the Derwen Stud, Ceredigion, Wales attended the meeting and presented Tresorya Stud with the Highland Trophy for the overall group most consistent in type when we entered the 2017 South Western Association Stud Competition.
He also awarded rosettes -1st and 2nd for the best groups of 3 foals born this year. Also a Ist rosette for 3 foals sired by the same stallion ( Tresorya Cornish Cream )
The first foals have now been weaned for over a week and have also been micro-chipped. They have all settled really well and are having more handling before going to their new homes. Tresorya Aramis, Tresorya Cornish Carrow, Tresorya Lucky Charm will start leaving soon and Tresorya Desert Lily has been retained to be produced for Showing. They are all growing well and are very friendly foals. They are going to lovely new homes and am sure their new owners will enjoy them.
We will be weaning the next ones in a couple of weeks. We still have 2 really pretty Show Quality Palomino Fillies available for sale- Tresorya Indian Primrose and Tresorya Xanthia. Also a very smart Show Quality Buckskin Colt – Tresorya Caramac which will be weaned a little later. All full Section D with excellent bloodlines. A deposit secures to weaning.
Two mini buses full of photographers visited Tresorya. Led by the famous American photographer Tony Stromberg, and accompanied by members of his team Susan Pfeifer and Peter Clotten.
We were asked to provide facilities for the participants of the photographic workshop. We believe that nearly 20,000 photos were taken throughout the day and evening. Photos were taken in all areas of the stud – Stallions, youngstock, mares and broodmares and foals. We were fortunate with the weather and everyone appeared to be having a good time. It was a really enjoyable experience for us too! We now look forward to seeing the photos which will hopefully be received in a couple of months time.
A very memorable occasion!
